Case story

Subase stabilisation with Rock PEC, Mauritius Island

Mauritius Island, Port Louis

Located in the northern zone of the harbor at Port Louis, the Mauritius Container Terminal (MCT) is 560 meters long with a dredge depth of 14 meters and a turning circle of 450 meters. To stabilize the platform that will hold a container park with a maximum 7 container stacking height, the use of geosynthetic for separation and reinforcement was proposed.

The solution chosen is a geocomposite TenCate ROCK PEC55/55 made of  PET yarns knitted on a PP nonwoven geotextile. This solution optimizes the sub-base hardcore as well as the overall performance of the platform and lead to reduce the 400mm thick sub-base layer to a 250mm.
